It is hard to believe that today we start a brand new year. It seems like just yesterday we were starting 2016. We had a lot of fun in 2016. We added several new shows to our tour and met a lot of amazing people along the way.
2017 is here and what does it have in store for us? For starters we are honored to be asked back to produce great rodeos like Creede, Pogosa, and South Fork. We will be touring heavily in New Mexico again this summer. We are in talks with a few new fairs and rodeos to see how we can best serve them and make their event unique and special.
2017 is also going to see us venture into new territory as we are in the planning stages to produce our first LIVE theater play. We are very excited about this new venture. Live theater is new to us but not a big leap from the amazing live events we already have the honor to produce. We can’t wait to share more with you about this production so keep checking back often as we will be realizing more details soon.
Even with all of the events in the works for 2017 we still welcome all inquiries about our services. Whether you need sound, lighting, video, or full production we are Ready, Willing, and Able to help you make your event something that will be talked about long after it is over and make it an event people look forward to attending year after year. Call or email us today and let make your 2017 event AMAZING!!

Here is to a fantastic 2017!
See you at the show,
Think about all the entertainment around you both paid and free. Some of those events may have a lot of people show up and some not so many people. There are probably even events that you don’t know about that take place close to you.
So the million dollar question is how do you get people to come to your event and spend money? Oh! Oh!! Oh!!! Oh!!!! I KNOW!!!!! We can spend a lot of money on advertisement. We can print posters, make a Facebook page, and we can get a bunch of those cold air inflatable’s people love those things. True you are going to need a good advertising game but that is not the only thing you have to think about.
I am a picky person when it comes to spending my hard earned money on live entertainment and I know I am not the only one. An event or performer can spend all the money they want on advertisement but if I don’t feel like I am going to get my moneys worth I am not going to go to the show. I want to go to an event that for 2 – 3 hours is going to make me forget all the things going on in the world. I want to go to a show with my friends that after several years we will be sitting around and say hey you remember when we went to that show and how amazing it was.
Take a look at all the major live events. The ones that are most successful are the ones that put on the best performance. Take Bon Jovi for example their last 3 tours have been the #1 tour in the world. They beat everybody in every category of music. Why is that? You could say that it is because they have been around for more than 30 years and have build a fan base of over 100 million fans and you would be right. They did not always have that many fans though so what is their secrete? It is simple they set out to be the best. They were going to work harder and give a better show than anyone else and they did. I have no problem spending several hundred dollars to go to their show (some day I will be able to spend a couple thousand so I can be front row on the floor) because I know I am going to get my moneys worth.
Now look at your event. Ask yourself if I was sitting in the seats would I think I got my moneys worth? Would I think the show was okay, good, great, amazing? Would I leave it posting on social media telling everyone this is a show you have to see or a show you have to avoid? People have an unlimited choice in entertainment today so they expect a great show.
How do you create a show that will make it worth the money? There are a lot of ways, for example you can invest in technology. Using lights and video can keep people focused on what is happening in the arena or on the stage. If you are on a tight budget you can do things that engage the audience to make them feel like they are a part of the show. This gets them off the phones and keeps them focused on what is happening in real time.
There are so many ways to make your event the event everyone wants to spend money at. It takes good planning and working with people who know how to put on a great show and want your event to succeeded. Give us a call today to talk about making your event great. We have several ways to help you.
See you at the show,
Lighting can make the largest arenas and stadiums feel as intimate as a backyard party. Fans are inspired, moved and impressed when lighting is used correctly. Lighting is most powerful when it’s effects register just below conscious awareness. Fans reactions are stronger to a great ride or a song when lighting is use but they don’t necessarily know that it is because of the lighting that they are reacting so strongly.
When I design and program lighting for rodeos and concerts I think about the kind of emotional ride I want the audience to experience. Different colors, movements, and images can create different reactions for people. I want people to have an amazing experience so I will put a lot of thought into the design of the show.
More and more rodeos are starting to tap into rock n’ roll lighting techniques to enhance the wild rides and runs of the cowboys and cowgirls. The Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR) was a pioneer in using lights to increase excitement at their events. Why has the PBR had such amazing success? A number of factors contribute to their success but one of the main factors is the way they do their production. Rodeos used to be all about the rides and runs, and not much thought was put into production. The PBR decided they were going to go big or go home. They now use sound, video, pyrotechnics, and lighting to create a show that leaves the youngest to the oldest fan in awe. The PBR got it right, today they are a multimillion dollar business that continues to pack arenas. No doubt the fans are there to watch their favorite rider win and watch their least favorite rider get bucked off, but the lighting still plays a huge part in the fun that the fans have.
Most rodeos don’t give lighting much thought because it is an added expense and committees don’t think that lighting is necessary. While lighting is an expense it can also make money. Big things are coming to the rodeo world. Rodeo is currently ranked 7th in all major sporting events. Rodeo committees are going to have to start adding more production value to their rodeos in order to keep existing fans and attract new fans. In this high tech age people expect to see more bang for their buck. Lighting can give them that bang. When you spend the money to add to the production value of your rodeo, word will spread and more people will come to watch. When more people attend, you make more money. If more people are showing up, businesses will want to sponsor. It’s a win win for everyone.
Committees can not be afraid to step out of their comfort zone. Rodeo is all about pushing yourself to be the best, never giving up. The amazing thing about lighting is that you are bringing your fans onto the arena floor, behind the bucking chutes, and into the roping box. Lighting is an extremely powerful tool in your marketing toolbox. Seeing your fans faces light up in excitement and amazement is something you as a rodeo committee will never forget. Give Dynamic Productions LIVE a call today. We have the experience to make your rodeo or concert light up. We are available Monday – Saturday 7am to 8pm Mountain Time. (719) 580-5644
